Service & coverage
What we cover, where we work and who we work for - across every Central, North and East London postcode.
Where exactly does AC Mobile Tyre operate?+
We cover the whole of Central London (W1, WC1, WC2, SW1, SE1), North London (N1-N22, NW1, EN1-EN5) and East London (E1-E20, including Stratford, Walthamstow, Canary Wharf, Hackney, Leyton and Leytonstone). We also serve Harlow, Hertford, Barnet and the M25 corridor. If you're in any of those zones, a van is dispatched directly to you.
Do you really run a 24/7 mobile tyre service?+
Yes. Phones are answered around the clock by a real human - nights, weekends and bank holidays included. Out-of-hours rates are quoted upfront and a fitter is dispatched immediately.
Can you fit at any address - roadside, driveway, office?+
Yes. We work roadside (kerb, pull-in, service road), at residential driveways, on private parking, at hotel forecourts and at workplace car parks. The only requirement is a safe place to park the van alongside your vehicle and enough room to jack the wheel.
What vehicles do you cover?+
Cars, vans, taxis, PHV/Uber, luxury and performance vehicles (German marques included), EVs, SUVs, light commercials, motorhomes and small fleets. If you're unsure, send the make, model and tyre size on the booking call and we'll confirm.
Do you handle fleet, taxi and corporate accounts?+
Yes - we run priority dispatch and account terms for London taxi and PHV operators, courier fleets, chauffeur companies and small commercial fleets. Get in touch and we'll set up a credit account or a fixed-price callout schedule.
Response time
How fast we actually get to you - inside the M25, day or night - and what affects arrival time.
How quickly can a mobile tyre fitter arrive in London?+
Average arrival across Central, North and East London is under 35 minutes. In the busiest dispatch zones (Enfield, Wood Green, Camden, Islington, Hackney, Stratford, Westminster, Canary Wharf) it's routinely sub-30 minutes during off-peak hours.
What if I'm in a hazardous location on the road?+
Tell us on the call - hard shoulders, busy A-roads (A10, A406, A40, A13, A2) and motorway slip roads get priority dispatch. If recovery is needed first to a safe location, we'll coordinate that with you in real time.
Do response times change at night or on bank holidays?+
Generally response is faster late at night because traffic is lighter, even though dispatch coverage is the same. Bank holidays and weekends operate on the same 24/7 dispatch as any weekday.
What slows arrival down?+
Heavy peak traffic across central zones, Notting Hill Carnival, marathon weekends, large stadium events at Wembley, Tottenham and Olympic Park, and severe weather. We'll quote a live ETA on the call based on real-time conditions.
Pricing & payment
Transparent, fixed-price quotes given upfront on the phone - no hidden callout fees and no surprise charges.
How much does a mobile tyre callout cost in London?+
We quote a fully-inclusive fixed price on the phone before the van moves. The price includes the tyre, mobile fitting, balancing, valve, TPMS reset (where required) and old-tyre disposal. There is no separate callout fee.
Are there hidden out-of-hours charges?+
No - there is a small uplift on the standard daytime price for genuine out-of-hours work (typically late evening, overnight or bank holiday) and it's quoted upfront on the same call. You see the total before agreeing to the job.
How do I pay?+
Card, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the van. A VAT receipt is emailed before we leave. We don't take any payment upfront over the phone - you only pay once the job is finished and you're happy with the work.
Will my breakdown cover or insurance pay?+
If your breakdown cover (AA, RAC, Green Flag, manufacturer cover) confirms reimbursement, we'll provide a VAT invoice for you to submit. Many drivers prefer the mobile route because it's usually faster than waiting for the recovery slot.
Do you charge for callouts that don't end in a fit?+
If we attend and the issue can't be resolved on-site (very rare), we'll only charge a small attendance fee and credit it against the next visit. We'll never invoice for work we haven't completed.
Repairs & fitting
How we repair, fit and balance tyres on-site - to the same British Standard a fast-fit centre uses.
Can you actually repair a puncture roadside?+
Yes - most punctures in the central tread area can be repaired on-site to BS AU 159, using an internal plug-and-patch (not a cheap external plug). Sidewall damage and shoulder damage almost always need a replacement tyre, which we can also fit immediately from van stock.
Can you fit run-flats and low-profile tyres?+
Yes - run-flats, low-profiles, UHP performance tyres and common sizes for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Tesla, Porsche, Range Rover and other premium vehicles. Tell us the size on the booking call and the right tyre is loaded onto the van before we leave.
Do you balance the wheel on-site?+
Every fitted wheel is balanced on the van using a calibrated digital balancer - the same standard used inside a fast-fit centre. This eliminates steering wheel vibration and uneven tread wear.
Do you use a torque wrench?+
Yes - every wheel is torqued to the manufacturer's specification with a calibrated torque wrench. No air-gun guesswork, no over-tightened studs.
What about TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring)?+
We carry the tooling to reset direct TPMS systems on the spot. If a sensor has failed, we can usually replace it during the same visit - quoted upfront.
Do you remove locking wheel nuts without the key?+
Yes - we carry specialist removal tooling and have 12+ years' experience extracting damaged, rounded or keyless locking wheel nuts on virtually any vehicle, without damaging the alloy.
What happens to the old tyre?+
We take it away and recycle it through a licensed end-of-life tyre processor. It's included in the price - no separate disposal fee.
Warranty & trust
Insurance, guarantees and the standard of the work - the same as any high-street fast-fit centre.
Is the work guaranteed?+
Yes - every job is covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee. If anything fitted by us fails because of how we fitted it, we'll return and fix it free of charge.
Are you insured?+
Yes - full public liability insurance and tools-in-transit cover. The work is signed off and insured on completion.
Are the tyres genuine?+
Yes - we stock and fit genuine premium, mid-range and budget brand tyres (Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Hankook, Falken, Avon and others) sourced through approved UK distribution. Never grey-market, never part-worn unless you specifically request.
Can I see reviews?+
Yes - we have 2,300+ verified reviews averaging 4.9 stars from drivers across London, including private clients, taxi drivers, fleet operators and commuters. Reviews appear on Google and on our homepage.
Why drivers across London use a mobile tyre fitter
London is uniquely hard on tyres. The combination of pothole-heavy A-roads (the A10, A406, A40, A13 and A2 are all repeat offenders), aggressive kerbing on tight residential streets across Camden, Islington, Hackney and Stoke Newington, and the constant stop-start of central traffic means tyre damage is part of daily life. A traditional fast-fit depot fix means either limping the car across town or paying for recovery - both options that cost time you don't have. A mobile fitter solves that by bringing the depot to your kerb, your driveway or your office.
We've answered the questions above thousands of times across postcodes from EN1 Enfield and N22 Wood Green down to SW1 Westminster, SW3 Chelsea, E14 Canary Wharf and E15 Stratford. The pattern is always the same: drivers are surprised that the response is actually under 35 minutes, that the price is genuinely fixed before the van moves, and that the workmanship - balanced, torqued, TPMS-reset, BS AU 159 puncture-repaired and guaranteed for 12 months - is identical to anything inside a depot bay. That's the short version of why we exist.
