How we handle your information when you call, text or email AC Mobile Tyre.

AC Mobile Tyre Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates a 24 hour mobile tyre fitting service across Central, North and East London. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data lawfully under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who we are

AC Mobile Tyre Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at any time using the details in section 12 below.

2. What data we collect

When you contact us for a tyre callout, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, mobile phone number and email address.
  • Location data: the address, postcode or vehicle location you give us so we can dispatch a technician.
  • Vehicle details: make, model, registration, tyre size and a description of the fault.
  • Payment information: we take card payments via a PCI-DSS compliant payment terminal. We do not store full card numbers - only the last four digits and authorisation reference appear on our records.
  • Communications: SMS messages, WhatsApp messages, emails and call records when you contact our dispatch line.
  • Website data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location, collected via cookies and similar technologies.

3. Why we use your data (lawful basis)

  • To provide the service you requested - dispatching a technician, quoting, invoicing and follow-up support. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • To comply with legal obligations - tax records, insurance claims, accident reporting. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To improve our service - analysing call volumes, dispatch times and customer feedback. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • To send service-related messages - arrival ETAs, payment receipts and warranty information. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • For marketing (only with consent) - we do not send marketing emails or texts unless you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with:

  • Our payment provider (for card processing).
  • Our insurer (only if there is a claim relating to the work we carried out).
  • Our accountant and HMRC (for tax and bookkeeping obligations).
  • Hosting and dispatch software providers acting as data processors under contract.
  • Law enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to do so.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain job records, invoices and warranty data for 7 years to comply with HMRC requirements and warranty obligations. Call recordings (where made) are kept for 90 days. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent plus 12 months. Website analytics data is retained for 26 months.

6. How we protect your data

We use encrypted cloud storage, access controls and password policies. Our website uses HTTPS. Payment data is handled by a PCI-DSS compliant provider. We train our team on data protection and review our security regularly.

7. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to function and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics or similar) to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (where applicable).
  • Object to processing or request restriction.
  • Request data portability.

10. International transfers

Your data is stored in the UK and EEA. If any processor transfers data outside these regions, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

11. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
